RECRUITMENT OF A FUNDRAISING MANAGER

“Free World Foundation” originally called “Divine Aid Mission” is a legally registered non-profit, non-commercial, non-governmental organisation with tax exempt status and subscribes to humanitarian values and practices.

The “FOUNDATION” is recruiting a Fundraising Manager to raise funds to support its programmes.

You will work with the Executive Director to build relationships with our funders and potential funders.

To meet our funding targets, your duties will include researching the Foundations, Trusts, Companies and Grantmakers interested in funding programmes we undertake. Our programmes include fighting against the HIV/AIDS pandemic, tuberculosis and malaria, youth empowerment (through skills training), education, governance, human rights promotion and women empowerment.

You will help devise and implement effective fundraising strategies and manage relationships with a wide-range of funders.

The ideal candidate must be fluent in English, have wide fundraising and marketing experience, and a well-developed understanding of the voluntary sector funding environment.
He or she must also possess excellent communication and people skills; have very strong planning and organisational skills and a flair for persuasion and negotiation.

The candidate must at least hold a first degree or its equivalent from a recognised university or institution. He or she must also have strong writing skills and be able to write for different audiences.
He or she should be able to work in a busy pressurised environment and be able to meet deadlines.

The Fundraising Manager will retain ten percent of all donations of up to one thousand dollars ($1,000) for administrative and programme costs. For all donations between one thousand and one dollars ($1001) and five thousand dollars ($5,000), the Fundraising Manager will retain seven of the donation. For donations over five thousand dollars, the Fundraising Manager will retain five percent of the funds. This will be documented for everyone, including our auditors to see.

If the interested candidate is in the United States of America, he or she would be expected to set up a US non-profit known as a 501 (c) (3). This non-profit will serve as an intermediary organisation that would source funding to support the programmes of “Free World Foundation”.

The Fundraising Manager will serve as a member of “Free World Foundation’s” Board of Directors.

The position is for a period of one year but it is renewable upon satisfactory conduct.
