Different user permission levels
This FAQ item provides details about the permission levels of the different user levels of this site. As you will see, while becoming a registered user is generally open to all, only an administrator can grant a registered user a higher permission level such as author status. Send the Executive Officer a message if you think you should have a higher permission level.

| Guest | Visit the site, no registration or login required | Read all public content, add comments |
| User | Create an account on the site | As above, may facilitate some functions and enable access to some restricted content, required as a preliminary step to higher user levels |
| Author | Needs Adminstrator action | As above, also author articles and edit own articles |
| Editor | Needs Adminstrator action | As above, also edit others content, read restricted content |
| Publisher | Needs Adminstrator action | As above, also publish new or edited content to the live site |
| Administrator | Needs Adminstrator action | As above, also access back-end of site, change users' permission levels, change menu structure and other community settings |
